Is official unofficial motto of Strong Seal Racing. We were hunting for ideas for team names and motto early on and this one stuck. We’re not proud of it, but it’s there and it works.

Alright, this garbage is perma-tacked in. Funny how the fit up seems dialed until somebody clamps a ground to the car and suddenly everything needs 40 more minutes with an angle grinder and hammer to fit just so.

Strong Seal Racing is a team of muppets that got together in 2018 and decided to start racing a Volvo with a V8.

It wasn’t necessarily our dream to do that, that’s just what the lead muppet C saw was for sale.

Regrets began almost immediately after that purchase.

We’ve since compensated for the above regrets by buying a Volvo wagon and are in the process of stuffing our V8 into that instead.

The Noisemaker

Some details about what we’re currently building for those that might care:

1989 Volvo 245 Wagon

Ford 302 5.0 L V8 mated to a Ford 4-speed top loader transmission.

The block came from a tweaker’s garage someplace in Washington. No idea where we even got the heads anymore. Modified internals include some after-market rod guides and rockers, pistons, ARP fasteners all over the place, a high-pressure oil pump, custom oil pan thingamiajigger and way more RTV sealant than we will ever admit.
