THE Shell
It’s not just any shell, it’s our new shell.
At the end of the 2nd season with the Deathcab, we were starting to get pretty fed up with all of the idiosyncrasies that were brought on by owning a car that had been on its roof at least twice. We decided starting afresh would be wise.
Our new project car is a locally-sourced, organically grown Pacific Northwest Volvo 245 wagon. Because the only thing more ridiculous than a 1980’s Volvo with a “modern” V8 is a 1980’s wagon with an even more “modern” V8.
We’re currently working our way through all of the annoying starting bits - finding the right means to locate and mount the motor, and trans, getting it converted to be happy with upgraded brakes and a clutch, and fitting it with a new endurance racing fuel cell.
We have tons of other racing-related quality of life upgrades planned for further down the line, too.
